Thermodynamic (Kelvin) Compute

Turning waste Energy into High-Performance Compute & Thermal

Hybrid & Modular Compute, Flexibility and Heat. Three products, same megawatt.

The gap

Compute Flexibility earns while it flexes.

A quarter of Europe’s wasted Energy is trapped in northern Sweden. +41 TWh a year, and rising.

Energy without a buyer

Northern Europe builds Energy faster than demand can take it.

Compute without a place

AI training and batch inference sit behind multi-year queues.

Sweden’s north is spilling cheap power; the south imports expensive.

Kelvin places High-Performance Compute at pockets of Surplus & Excess energy. No extra load on the existing grid — entirely renewable and circular. The grid gets more resilient, digital and kinetic.

Approach

Surplus power in, High-Performance Compute & Heat out.

Behind the meter, without needing to load the grid. Three products, without pause. Compute, Flexibility & Heat.

The host keeps the process.

  • 01

    Power in

Curtailed wind and solar, hydro in negative-price hours, spare industrial connection. Behind the meter.

  • 02

    Compute

AI and HPC that can checkpoint. A 40 ft ISO at the source. ≈1 MW.

  • 03

    Heat out

Heat as an asset, not a side effect — local on site, municipal or district.

The loop

Energy in. Compute, Flexibility & Thermal/Heat out.

The load sits at the surplus.

Energy in

  • Curtailment — wind and solar switched off
  • Hydro surplus — negative-price hours
  • Spare industrial — connection already there

Kelvin Flexbox

  • Full stack at the surplus.
  • Compute, Flexibility and Thermal/Heat on the same pad.
  • 40 ft ISO. ≈1 MW. Air or liquid.

Value out

  • Compute — AI, HPC, Bitcoin, Cloud, Edge, batch inference, can be hybrid, modular & retrofitted to each site.
  • Thermal/Heat — local on site, municipal or district
  • Flexibility — FCR-D, aFRR and mFRR. Primary Nordic energy markets.
  1. 01

    Site at the source

Sit the load where the surplus already is — behind the meter or spare industrial.

  2. 02

    Flex the load

Compute pauses so the host stays on.

  3. 03

    Flexibility

FCR-D, aFRR and mFRR. Primary Nordic energy markets.

  4. 04

    Close the loop

Every kilowatt of Compute leaves as Heat. Capture is designed in.

Why Kelvin

Three products, on the same megawatt.

The connection earns all three revenues simultaneously.

  1. 01

    Compute

High-Performance Compute on surplus Energy. The baseline.

  2. 02

    Flexibility-as-a-Service

Compute flexes instead of the host. The load is built to move — FCR-D, aFRR and mFRR.

  3. 03

    Thermal/Heat

Capture designed in. Local on site, municipal or district.

Bitcoin

5.0

Compute that flexes

Paid on stand-by, paid on activation, paid while active and paid in yield. No matter the market price of Bitcoin, we produce for Production Price.

You bring the pocket. Kelvin brings the rest.

  1. You

    The pocket.

Location, surplus hours, the connection (behind the meter or spare industrial), a Heat sink if there is one.

  2. Kelvin

    Full-stack.

Infrastructure. Compute, Hardware, Software, Flexbox. Flexibility-as-a-Service, Thermal/Heat. Operations. Kelvin handles everything.

Compute on surplus

Interruptible HPC. Checkpoint in the contract.

See Compute

Why it holds

No single price, market or machine decides the outcome.

  1. 01

    Compute

The connection earns Compute between dispatches — interruptible AI training, batch inference, simulation and rendering. Checkpoint is in the contract, so the job pauses and comes back.

Income a battery cannot print. Kelvin runs the Compute.

  2. 02

    Energy

Sit behind the meter at hydro, geothermal, solar or wind — or on spare industrial electrical already on the plot.

Extra grid load stays low. The Energy stays on the plot.

  3. 03

    Thermal

Thermal/Heat is a product, not CSR. Capture is designed into the Flexbox: local process and premises on site, municipal or district.

Residential is district Heat only — not a box in a house.

  4. 04

    Curtailment

Clean Energy is switched off because the load cannot move. We sit on that surplus.

    A module at generation.

  5. 05

    Congestion

Northern surplus, southern demand. Wires are a multi-year build. A 40 ft module sits at the Energy instead of queueing for a wire.

    The connection is the asset.

  6. 06

    Mitigation

Batteries store Energy, sit idle, cycle-degrade and earn one stream. Compute earns while it flexes — and heats while it earns.

No cycle penalty. Multiple revenues on the same connection.

  7. 07

    Cadence

Pad, connection and permits. Weeks, not a multi-year queue.

    Cadence, not an SLA.

  8. 08

    Nine lines

Compute plus grid services, Thermal/Heat and mitigation run together. Modular. Surplus Energy. Low grid-load. Turn-key.

    Nine revenue lines against one.

Questions

Who maintains the unit?

Kelvin runs the Compute — the unit and the cooling. You remain the Energy host: site access, the connection, and the Heat sink where you have one.

How is Flexibility-as-a-Service paid?

Paid on stand-by, on activation, and while Compute is running. See How the megawatt pays and Compute Flexibility.

Why not batteries?

Batteries store Energy. Compute earns while it flexes. Multiple revenues, continuous dispatch, no cycle wear. vs Battery Flexibility.

Retrofit or plug-and-play?

Low-demand retrofit, high-demand plug-and-play.

What happens when Compute pauses?

The load is built to ramp. When the grid is tight or the surplus disappears, jobs checkpoint and the site steps down. Heat follows the load — a paused unit is not a baseload boiler.

Who takes the Heat?

Local on site, municipal or district. We do not take over the network. Thermal.

Why Sweden and the Nordics?

The north spills cheap power; the south imports expensive. Kelvin sits the load at that surplus. Energy.

It’s not a Wires problem. It’s a Flexibility problem. We solve it.

Do we need a new grid connection?

No. Behind the meter, at the surplus. Energy.

Does this only work as a full campus?

No. One Flexbox is a valid first step. Scale.

Is Bitcoin a product?

Compute that flexes. Paid on stand-by, paid on activation, paid while active and paid in yield. No matter the market price of Bitcoin, we produce for Production Price. Bitcoin.

The most Flexible Compute-form and algorithm (SHA256).
